When gunfire breaks out, the most dangerous question is the simplest one: which way? Vigil Knight’s gunshot alerts and geolocation, coming soon, will answer it. Phones running Vigil Knight will work together to pinpoint where the shots are originating and show you on a map — so you can move away from the danger, not toward it.

Here is how it will work. Vigil Knight will listen for gunfire on the device itself. When phones in the same area hear a shot, their reports will be correlated in the cloud to estimate where it came from — and that location will be pushed back to everyone nearby, with guidance away from the danger.
Many officials first learn of a shooting from the news. A community network can tell them — and the people standing a block away — while it still matters.
